Preamble

These General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTC) apply to all ticketing necessary for the Carnival of Nice organized by the city of Nice – Delegated Directorate for Public Relations, 5, rue Hôtel de Ville 06364 Nice cedex – Tel: 04.97.13.36.66 – email: info.carnaval@ville-nice.fr – website: www.nicecarnaval.com.

The GTC covered by this document concern ticketing providing access to the stands, promenades, and the Hospitality Program.

The buyer acknowledges, before paying for the order, that they have read the general terms and conditions of sale below. Any order shall constitute full and unconditional acceptance of these GTC. Any contrary conditions imposed by the buyer, without express agreement, are unenforceable against the city of Nice.

The language of these GTC is French. In case of translation of all or part of these conditions, only the original French text shall prevail.

The applicable GTC are those in force on the date of ticket purchase. The city of Nice reserves the right to adapt or modify these GTC at any time and without notice, to the full extent permitted by law.

The fact that the city of Nice does not invoke, at a given time, any of the clauses of these GTC cannot be interpreted as a waiver to invoke any of these conditions later.

Article 1 – PURPOSE

General Terms and Conditions of Sale and cancellation have been established to govern the reservations, sales, and cancellations of the festivities of the Carnival of Nice. They concern the stands, promenades, and the hospitality program.

Article 2 – PRICES

The site where the parades take place is divided into several zones.

The prices, indicated on various media such as websites, brochures, flyers, and referenced in the tariff collection, vary according to the event, zone, seat category (seated or standing) and may be subject to conditions (applicable upon presentation of proof in accordance with the tariff collection resolution). They are mentioned excluding additional fees (processing fees, service fees, ancillary fees).

Tickets are only valid for the mentioned event and provide access only to the zone and category indicated on them through the designated entrances.

The city of Nice is not responsible for tickets purchased outside official sales points. It declines all responsibility in case of theft or loss of a ticket, as well as any other personal items.

People in costume (Corsi Carnavalesque and Illuminated only): free in promenade areas (subject to available seating).

People with reduced mobility and their companion at Corsi Carnavalesques, Illuminated Corsi, and Flower Battles: free in promenade areas for holders of a disability card with a rate of 80% or higher or a Mobility Inclusion Card marked “disability” and their companion (subject to available seating).

Article 3 – RESERVATIONS

3.1. Public reservations

Users can purchase their tickets:

  • either online using the secure payment system. The number of tickets purchased online may be limited per customer account or per order. Information on the authorized volume of tickets for online purchase will be published on the website.

Beyond these quantities, requests must be sent by email to carnaval.reservation@ville-nice.fr and will be processed on a case-by-case basis depending on ticket availability.

Payment is made in euros by credit card (CB, Visa, EuroCard-MasterCard) and/or ANCV Connect.

For online orders, a confirmation is sent by email.

Processing fees may apply per order, regardless of the number of tickets purchased.

  • or via an order form for people with disabilities eligible for the PMR rate. This form is available on the dedicated page of the Carnival website, where the conditions for benefiting from this rate and the instructions for completing the online order form are provided.

The request is then processed by the reservation service, which sends a proforma invoice corresponding to it to the email indicated on the order form. Payment can be made directly online by credit card (CB, Visa, MasterCard) and/or ANCV Connect.

Upon receipt of payment for the total amount of the order, the electronic ticket(s) will be sent to the same email address.

Processing fees may apply per order, regardless of the number of tickets purchased.

  • or at the on-site ticket office during the opening hours of the main ticket office or the different ticket offices located around the site (subject to availability).

Payment is made in euros by cash, credit card (Visa, MasterCard) with or without contact, holiday vouchers (no change given), and/or ANCV Connect.

The municipality may sell tickets via the Pass Culture application; the terms and conditions of sale on the application are specific to its operation and take precedence over those of the municipality.

Payment of tickets validates the sale: no claims for errors in date, performance, or price will be accepted afterward, except for tickets with the “refundable ticket” option.

No discounts or subscription to a service will apply after payment of the order.

“Refundable ticket”: This service may be offered on certain ticket categories, regardless of the sales channel used by the municipality, with a specific rate called “refundable ticket”.

It includes the original ticket price plus fees related to this service. The service applies to each ticket selected at this rate.

For the two-event package excluding Saturday: if the “refundable ticket” option is selected, the refund fees will apply to both tickets.

The “refundable ticket” option allows the refund of the original ticket price (excluding service fees) without specific conditions.

From 72 hours before the start of the ordered event, the “refundable ticket” option will no longer be offered.

Only tickets purchased at the “refundable ticket” rate are eligible for a refund request (excluding ancillary/service fees).

(Detailed information on validation conditions is provided in chapter 5.1 of this document).

Other tickets are neither refundable nor exchangeable.

Tickets cannot be resold without the organizer’s authorization under penalty of sanctions provided in the Penal Code (article 313-6-2).

Resale at a price higher than indicated on the ticket is prohibited (law of June 27, 1919).

Each issued ticket is valid only for the show and the specified zone. Issued tickets are unique.

However, duplicates may be printed in case of theft or loss upon presentation of an ID, the confirmation email received for online tickets, or if the reservation can be identified in the ticketing system. In any case, only the ticket holder is authorized to occupy the seat.

Online reservation: www.nicecarnaval.com

Prior to any transaction, the customer expressly acknowledges having read these general terms and conditions as well as the various applicable documents and special conditions displayed on the screen (description, price, specifics of the proposed event, limitations) to which they refer, and accepts them without reservation. The customer thus acknowledges their legal capacity (of legal age and not under guardianship or curatorship) to enter into such an agreement or that they have the authorization of the person empowered to do so. Thereafter, the customer clicks the “I accept the general terms and conditions of sale” button.

Availability of tickets:

Ticket reservations are made in real time. The customer is thus informed of the availability of the tickets being reserved: an order summary is displayed on the screen. The customer may cancel their order by checking the “delete cart” box or make another reservation by clicking on the “add another show” link.

Processing fees may apply per order: in this case, they are added to the cart before payment.

Once the first tickets have been added to the cart, it will be held for 20 minutes.

After this period, without order validation through payment, the tickets will be directly put back on sale.

Order validation:

When placing the first ticket order, the buyer must complete customer information and provide a username and password.

This password will be requested from the customer for each transaction to access their account. It is strictly personal and confidential, and the customer is responsible for its use.

The customer takes all necessary precautions to keep their password secret and to prevent any unauthorized use or violation.

In case of password loss, the customer clicks on the “Forgot password” link appearing on the same window as the login request. The system then asks for the customer’s email address and sends a link by email to reset the password.

The ticket order is definitively confirmed only after clicking the “PAY MY ORDER” button and binds the City of Nice only upon receipt of the email confirming that the order has been validated by the customer.

Payment validation implies final acceptance of the order (tickets and additional fees) and the general terms and conditions of sale.

Payment:

Internet reservations are paid in euros by credit card (CB, Visa, EuroCard-MasterCard) and/or ANCV Connect, via a secure payment system. Once the payment is validated, the card is charged.

In case of payment issues: it is recommended to verify the validity and authorized limit of the card used.

Some banks require an additional code for online purchases; the customer is advised to contact their bank for more information.

Ticket issuance:

Tickets purchased on the website will be dematerialized tickets printable at home (e-ticket) or readable on a smartphone. In this case, it is the responsibility of the ticket holder to ensure the ticket is available on their chosen digital device on the day of the event to access the site.

Specifics of the printable ticket (e-ticket)

The purchase of e-tickets is governed by the general terms and conditions of sale as well as by the following special conditions:

Each coded ticket (e-ticket) is provided as a PDF file with a barcode and/or QR code allowing access to the event for one spectator only. In case of loss, theft, or duplication of a valid ticket, only the first person holding the ticket may access the event. The purchaser remains responsible for the use of the e-tickets.

Ticket printing conditions (e-ticket)

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure they have the proper equipment to print the PDF file provided.

  • The ticket is valid if printed in black and white or color on blank A4 paper, front side only, without modifying the printing size, in portrait (vertical) format using an inkjet or laser printer. Other electronic devices such as smartphones or tablets are accepted, provided the screen is clearly legible.
  • Tickets must be of good print quality. Partially printed, soiled, damaged, or illegible tickets will not be accepted and will be considered invalid. The customer must then reprint their coded ticket to ensure good print quality. To reprint an order, the customer logs into their personal account with their credentials.

Use and validity of the ticket (e-ticket)

E-tickets are provided with a barcode and/or a QR code. The validity of tickets is checked and recorded at the entrance using appropriate readers. It is impossible to be admitted multiple times with the same ticket.

Reproduction of tickets is prohibited and provides no advantage. Only the first person presenting the ticket will be allowed to attend the event. They are presumed to be the legitimate ticket holder.

Therefore, it is forbidden to reproduce, duplicate, or counterfeit the ticket in any way, or to make it available for such purposes. It is advised to keep the ticket in a safe place, to use only an official sales channel to purchase the ticket, and to never accept a ticket offered by a stranger, as it could be a copy.

The City of Nice will refuse entry to the event when multiple prints, reproductions, copies, or imitations of a printable-at-home ticket are in circulation and access has already been granted to the holder of one such print, reproduction, copy, or imitation.

The City of Nice is not obliged to verify the validity of the e-ticket when an imitation or copy cannot be unequivocally identified as such during the entrance check. If the holder of a printable-at-home ticket is denied access for this reason during a control, there is no right to a refund of the price paid.

This coded ticket is valid only for the location, session, date, time, and seat category specified in the Carnival program available online at www.nicecarnaval.com under the “official program” section of the current edition.

In other cases, this ticket will not be valid.

This ticket must be kept for the entire duration of the event at the venue.

The City of Nice declines all responsibility for anomalies that may occur during the ordering, processing, or printing of the printable-at-home ticket, provided they were not intentionally caused or due to negligence, in case of loss, theft, or unlawful use of the printable-at-home ticket.

3.2. Group reservations (from 20 people), tourism professionals, and corporate committees:

Order and order modification:

Option requests must be sent by email to the Carnival of Nice reservations service (carnaval.reservation@ville-nice.fr), specifying all the necessary information for their processing (organization contact details, date and time of performances, number of people).

A start date for option requests is announced to tourism professionals via various communication channels (Newsletter, official Carnival website). Only requests received from this date will be considered for processing.

Requests are processed in chronological order of receipt and validated based on the number of tickets requested per date and availability.

If approved, the reservations service will send a pro-forma invoice by email indicating the total amount to be paid.

One free standing ticket (promenoir) is granted for every 20 paying attendees, for the guide or driver (depending on the selected series and under certain conditions). Only one free ticket per group is allocated in Zone A, with additional free tickets in Zone B (a group consists of 20 to 50 people). The free ticket(s) must be requested by the client to be added to the order, subject to available seats and quantities authorized under these General Terms and Conditions of Sale.

For this purpose, the client will receive an email to complete and return to the reservations service within the maximum period indicated in the message. Requests submitted after this deadline will not be provided.

All reservations must be fully paid no later than the option expiry date specified on the pro-forma invoice. Any file not confirmed by this date will be cancelled.

Orders placed after this date must be fully paid upon receipt of the pro-forma invoice. Any order not settled 72 hours before the event date will be cancelled.

Modifications are only accepted in writing and are automatically followed by the issuance of a new pro-forma invoice if confirmed.

It is also possible to purchase tickets at the “groups” counter of the main ticket office (subject to availability). Payment is made in euros by French bank cheque, cash, or credit card (CB, Visa, EuroCard-MasterCard).

Payment:

The issuance of tickets only occurs upon receipt of payment corresponding to the total and exact amount of the pro-forma invoice.

Payment must be made in euros (French bank cheque, bank transfer, credit card, remote sale).

It must be received by the reservations service no later than the option expiry date.

Payment implies validation of the pro-forma invoice: no claim for errors regarding date, performance, or price will be accepted afterwards.

Flat handling fees, including shipping costs, may be applied to each new order (except for purchases made directly at the counter). If an agency/third party places an order generating multiple pro-forma invoices, handling fees may be applied to each of them.

Resale at a price higher than indicated on the ticket is prohibited (law of June 27, 1919).
