In a difficult climatic and economic context, attendance at all events from the arrival of the King through to his incineration was higher than ever.
Ticket sales were up by 16.8 %, income by 9.65 % despite the cancellation of one event due to bad weather conditions.
With an overall budget of 6.6 M€, direct and indirect economic impact for the city has been estimated at 30 M€.
In 2011, the theme of Carnival will be "King of the Mediterranean" and will take place from 18th February to 8th March. Italy will be guest of honour to celebrate the 150th anniversary of its unification.
